Financial Business Controller

ReSource Denmark operates Denmark’s largest plastic sorting facility, located in Esbjerg. We actively contribute to the green transition by ensuring that as much plastic as possible is sorted for recycling in Denmark. Our highly automated facility, which uses the latest technology, began operations in June 2024 and sorts plastic waste from all over Denmark. We operate in three shifts and have approximately 70 employees.

For our Finance and IT Department, we are seeking an independent Financial Business Controller for a newly created position. The successful candidate will serve as a liaison between the finance function and the business, and ensure strong financial management, transparency, and compliance.

As a Financial Business Controller, you will support the CFO by providing timely and accurate financial information that contributes to data-driven decisions and the optimization of the company’s operations and results. You will be part of the Finance team, which, including you, consists of four employees and a CFO. Your primary responsibilities will be

  • Support and contribute to optimization projects in the areas of production, logistics, and operations
  • Analyze variances between the budget, forecast, and actual results
  • Participate in the optimization of BI solutions
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in collaboration with the finance team
  • Ensuring Quality and Documentation of Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting principles and internal controls

We imagine that you are

You have a degree in economics or accounting and 2–4 years of experience in a position at a manufacturing company, where your responsibilities included analyzing and validating production and operational data. You have a good grasp of the big picture, take initiative, and are able to understand complex issues. It would be an advantage if you have completed a Higher Diploma (HD) in accounting.

You tackle your tasks in a structured and independent manner, with a natural attention to detail, and you meet deadlines. In your work, it comes naturally to you to prioritize your tasks and to be curious about the approach and solution to them.

It is important that you can communicate fluently, both verbally and in writing, in Danish and English, and that you can explain financial concepts to colleagues without a background in finance. You must be an expert user of the MS Office suite and have experience with ERP systems and Power BI.
