Helle Vingolf has been appointed CEO of Resource Denmark as the company enters its next phase
The Board of Resource Denmark today announced the appointment of Helle Vingolf as Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2026. Helle joined Resource Denmark in 2025 as Operations & Technical Manager and brings more than 30 years of senior leadership experience in manufacturing and production, including in the Danish plastics and recycling sector.
With her extensive experience, Helle is uniquely positioned to lead Denmark’s largest plastic waste sorting facility in Esbjerg as it continues to ramp up to full capacity and seeks new partnerships.
Since it began operations in mid-2024, Resource Denmark has established itself as a key asset in Denmark’s recycling infrastructure:
- Processed approximately 75,000 metric tons of household plastic waste in 2025 and is on track to process approximately 100,000 metric tons in 2026
- Secured feed-in contracts with each of Denmark’s three producer responsibility organizations, effective October 2025, making Resource Denmark the reference facility for Danish EPR household plastic volumes
- Continued investment in operational performance, material traceability, and actual recycling rates throughout the value chain, leveraging the skills of its team of approximately 70 people
With this foundation in place, the priority is now operational excellence: operating Denmark’s largest plastic waste sorting facility in Esbjerg at full capacity, with top-tier recycling performance and full material traceability for its partners.
Helle will be supported by an experienced leadership team, including CFO Rebecca Røien Bach, along with strengthened commercial and traceability functions, reflecting the company’s focus on service quality and transparency toward producer responsibility organizations, municipalities, and offtake partners.
Looking beyond the plant to foster the Danish recycling ecosystem
Beyond reaching full processing capacity and top-tier recycling performance, Resource Denmark sees an opportunity for further partnerships within the Danish recycling sector to expand the country’s ability to treat its own waste.
“The future looks bright for ReSource Denmark. The vision of effectively and efficiently recycling Danish plastic waste in Denmark for reuse is achievable, but it will require continued collaboration across the private and public sectors. We are eager to establish a Danish plastic waste hub around our site and invite industry stakeholders across the country to collaborate in building out the entire value chain locally. Helle has the industry expertise and personal qualities to continue improving the plant’s performance and to build such relationships with customers and suppliers alike,” saysChairman Martin Sichelkow.
Helle Vingolf is equally looking forward to taking on thetask: “Resource Denmark has built something remarkable in a short time,” says Helle Vingolf. “My focus will be on operating the plant at the level our partners expect: full capacity, consistent quality, and traceability they can rely on, while building the partnerships that will strengthen recycling in Denmark. I’m proud to take on this role together with a very capable team.”
