ReSource Denmark is making significant strides in its journey towards sustainable waste management. Since November last year, the plant has been steadily progressing through its commissioning phases*, starting with cold commissioning alongside the delivery of its inaugural plastic waste batches. In January, ReSource Denmark reached another milestone by initiating hot commissioning.

“The transition to hot commissioning marks a critical stage in the plant's operational readiness, and the results so far have exceeded expectations. Week by week, we have witnessed significant progress with the plant's cutting-edge machinery processing post-consumer plastics,” says ReSource Denmark’s Plant Director Lars Hedegaard Kristensen, continuing: "The success of this very important phase wouldn't have been possible without the collective effort of everyone involved in the project. From engineers and technicians to operators, administrative staff and support personnel; each individual has played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth transition and ongoing progress of the plant.”

ReSource Denmark is now in a phase of fine-tuning the machinery and sorting equipment to ensure optimal functionality and achieve the highest possible recycling rate. ReSource Denmark's focus on using proven technology at scale, combined with traceability from waste to product, places the company at the forefront of the plastics industry's journey towards higher recycling rates.

"Fine-tuning our machines is not just a technical step; it is our commitment to achieving the highest recycling rates. The next phase is crucial to ensure that ReSource Denmark can run at high efficiency for years to come," Lars continues.

* During cold commissioning, systems are tested without processing materials, while hot commissioning involves actual processing with live materials to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
