ReSource Denmark explores the plastic waste value chain with RC Plast and AFLD

Each link in the value chain for Denmark's plastic waste management is equally important to reach the ambitious recycling targets. Recently, all ReSource Denmark employees were given the opportunity to visit some of the other vital links in the value chain.

Each link in the value chain for Denmark's plastic waste management is equally important to reach the ambitious recycling targets. Recently, all ReSource Denmark employees were given the opportunity to visit some of the other vital links in the value chain.

Our first stop was AFLD in Fasterholt, which is a collection point for plastic, metal and beverage carton waste from the Jutland municipalities. We were given an exciting tour of the history of our waste from the days when it ended up in landfills to now, when new rules for sorting household waste have been introduced. We had many questions as we explored the AFLD facility. Special thanks to Mogens Thude and Lars Overvad Mathiasen for the inspiring visit.

Our second visit took us to RC PLAST in Varde, a company specializing in recycling plastics from industrial customers. We were introduced to the company and got a detailed insight into their exciting production processes. Thanks to Helle Vingolf and Steffan Siig Pedersen and Bjarne Larsen from Marius Pedersen A/S for the warm welcome and for showing us their impressive facility.

Our success in reaching the recycling target depends on synergy throughout the value chain. When every part of the process works together, we get closer to Denmark's ambitious goal. Let's keep the momentum going!
